KUCHING — The St Joseph’s Cathedral Parish Sale and Fair was held on Sunday, 25 April at St Joseph’s Secondary School, Kuching. The main objective of this annual sale is to promote fellowship and inculcate a ’sense of belonging’ among the parishioners and the community. With the launching of the new pastoral centre building project in March last year, all proceeds raised from the Sale would be for the said building fund.

More than 90 stalls were set up where lots of food and fun filled activities backed up by a live band were the order of the day. An entertaining activity — an unplanned dance performed by the youths who were present that morning provided a lot of fun and joy in support of the worthy cause.

The Sale & Fair raised RM255,000, which is well above the target. This was made possible by the overwhelming support of the parishioners, sponsors, well wishers and all who have contributed in one way or another.

The top three sales achievers were Fr Richard’s Bible Class and Seminarian team, the Sunset Mass Children’s Liturgy of the Word, and St Mark’s Church Chinese Community.

The St Joseph’s Parish Council together with all the priests of the parish extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to all those who have contributed in terms of sponsorship, coupon sales, pre-sale, all stall operators and patronage of all who have made this Sale & Fair a great success.
